Hello from IOWA!!! Here is the obit for Christopher Jacobe.

APRIL 21,1904, ODEBOLT CHRONICLE, ODEBOLT, IOWA
CHRISTOPHER JACOBE

Christopher Jacobe, resident of Odebolt, Iowa for more than 20 years, died Monday at his home on Maple Street, at the ageof 69 years, 7 days. He had been in poor health for several months and had been confined to his bed the last four days.

He was born in Beckenraeden, Greis, Muhlhausen, Germany on April 11,1835. He married Amalia Brocknow on June 6,1850. In 1852 they camt to America and settled at Dickeysville, Grant County, Wisconsin where he was a carpenter. He came to Iowa, Sac County, June 8,1878 and his family soon followed him to the new home he had prepared for them, living there ever since. He has been engaged in the contracting and house moving business up until the time of his illness. In the latter business he often had contracts in neighboring towns and was well known. Two years ago he moved the old Cheney Depot Hotel in Sioux City to make room for the Northwesterns new Passenger Station.

He was frugal and industrious in his habits and acquired considerable property in Odebolt.

18 Children were born to them, 8 died in infancy, 1 son, William, eide in Odebolt about 15 years ago at the age of 26 and an 8 year old daughter, Louisa, wife of Henry W. Bieser, died 2 years ago in Brush, Colorado.
5 sons and 2 daughters still living are; Frank and Herman of Hawarden, Iowa; Chris J. and Albert of Sterling, Colorado; Charles and Mrs. Fred Hansmann of Brush, Colorado; and Mrs. R. L. Holm of Paulina, Iowa. All were present for the funeral except Albert.
Frank, the only brother of the deceased lives in Helena, Montana.

Funeral services were held at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Odebolt at 10 o'clock yesterday morning with burial following in the Odebolt Cemetery.

He was a good citizen, upright and honorable, all who knew him respected him.
