Nathanial WILLIAMS family 1925-1930

In 1925 Census the following family was living in Sac Co. Clinton: Nathanel O Williams 57; Ada M Williams 30; Earl H Williams 13; Vance R Williams 9; Carl W Williams 7; Wayne O Williams 4; Myrtle M Williams 3; Cecil Williams 1; Julia Chamberlain (mother in law) 63.
In the 1930 US Census, 3 of the children are shown in the Soldiers Orphans House in Davenport IA and one is a lodger at a house in NE.
Does anyone have any idea or information that would tell me what happened to Nathanial or his wife Addie that left 4 of their children as orphans?
Nathanial is my granduncle on my fathers side.
