Maurice McCann died at his home on the Scott Cole farm in Douglas township, Aug. 12,1902, age 67 years. The deceased was born in county Limerick, Ireland, in 1835. He came to the United States thirty years ago and settled in Cassville, Wis. He moved from there to Iowa twenty-one years ago. He worked on the railroad at this place, after which he went to LeMars, where be held the position of section foreman several years. He then returned here and has lived upon a farm in this vicinity several years. The deceased was an upright, industrious man, and was well known to many of our readers. He leaves a wife, a son and daughter, and five step children, two sons and three daughters, to mourn the loss of a husband and father. Funeral services were held at the home last Saturday conducted by Father Hennessey, of Storm Lake, and the remains laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery west of town.
