Storm Lake Pilot & Tribune - Thursday Feb 6, 1958 - Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon Feb 1 at the First Methodist church for Mrs Philip Walker. The deceased passed away Tuesday evening Jan 28 at the Storm Lake hospital, following injuries received in a car truck collision. Interment was in the Schaller cemetery.

Linda Odelia Schaefer was born to William and Louis Schaefer on Dec 4, 1880 on the Schaefer farm northeast of Schaller. She attended Cornell college in Mt Vernon, where she specialized in music.

She was united in marriage to Philip E Walker on Nov 29, 1905. To this union was blessed with 5 children. Two daughters, Margaret and Phylis, preceded her in death.

Mr and Mrs Walker resided on farms in the Schaller community for several years and later moved into town. In 1951 they left for Alta where they lived for 2 years and the past few years had spent summers at Lakeside and the winters with their children in California and Washington state.

She was preceded in death by her two daughters, her parents, and 5 brothers: Richard, Edwin, George, Elmer and Paul Schaefer.

She leaves her husband Philip E Walker, her children: Glen William of North Hollywood, CA; Evelyn Miriam (Mrs Byron Calhoun) of Kennewick, WA; and Warren Christian of Anaheim, CA; 7 grandchildren; two sisters: Mrs Mildred Traeder of Odebolt and Mrs Irma Corderman of Schaller.
