Minnie Bauer

Minnie M. Bauer 87 of Odebolt passed away Saturday, March 10, 1984 at St. Anthony Hospital in Carroll. Mass of the Resurrection was Wednesday, March 14 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Martin Catholic Church in Odebolt with Father Robert L. Keefe officiating with burial in St. Martin Cemetery in Odebolt. Attendants were Edwin Nachtman, Norman Olberding, Herbert Bauer, Patrick Scanlan, Henry Renze and Gene Bretey. Farber and Otteman Funeral Home in Odebolt was in charge of the service.

Rosary was at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Farber and Otteman East Chapel led by the St. Martin Ladies Guild.

Music was furnished by Mrs. Mabel Schoeberl and the ladies choir.

Minnie was born September 15, 1896 in Dale Valley, NE. She was married to Nicholas Bauer in Odebolt April 2, 1945.

She was a writer of poems. Some appeared in the Readers Digest and also the University of Iowa.

For the last seven years she was a resident at St. Anthony Nursing Home in Carroll.

Minnie is survived by one sister “Sister” M. Genevieve of Raid City, SD. Several nephews and nieces and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Conrad and Wilhelmenia Fleishman, three sisters Anna Michele, Agnes Nachtman, Thersia Fleishman and five brothers George, Frank, John, Theodore and Leo.

Minnie and her husband Nicholas farmed near Odebolt until retirement. They then moved to Odebolt. Nicholas passed away in 1977.
