However, she was not seriously ill until that afternoon and the end soon came. She was 74 years, two months and 18 days old.

Mary Hausmann was born in Mill county, Ill., Dec. 24, 1867. Her parents were Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Hausmann. When she was eight years old she came with he parents to Sac county in which she has since resided. She attended the rural schools here.

During her early life she attended the Evangelical church, later attending the Richland Methodist church.

Besides her husband and children there remain to cherish her memory: eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Carrie Halboth, Sioux City; Mrs. Alvina Mandernach and Mrs. Anna Huebner of Odebolt.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 at the home and 2 at the Methodist church with the Rev. Wayne C. Stauffer officiating. The hymns, “In the Garden” and “The City Four Square” were sung by Mrs. Marvin Friday and Mrs. John F. Buehler, with accompaniment by Mrs. Stauffer. Pallbearers were John McLean, Ernest Mandernach, Conrad Hoefling, H. E. Raasch and Ben Buehler of Odebolt, and Edgar Nitzsche of Spencer. Burial was made in the Odebolt cemetery.
