In Response To: Re: WILLIAM CONE SR. FAMILY (Mary Cone Stewart)

I believe that I missed these follow-ups to my questions, and if I did, I am sorry. Family emergencies kept me busy for a couple of years. I DO believe that Wm Cone is buried in Wirt/ Pumptown/Ellston, but I have NO written proof, nor any pic of a gravestone. I do wonder if there ever was any? The rest of the Cones found there ARE his descendents. All info I have has come very hard, and if there is anyone out there that can help, I STILL don't know what happened to his wife, ROSANNA FREE CONE, after WM's death in 1883. She DOES appear in the 1885 census, but nothing thereafter, unless her name is so mispelled that I don't know how to find her. I DO have a copy of Wm's obit thanks to kind people in Ringgold Co- and thank you very much. Some of it is inaccurate, but I cannot correct it with written proof either. I also cannot find all of his children's marriages, or deaths.

Does anyone know if WILLIAM HENRY CONE was connected to any particular church, so that I may search for churches in NY where he lived before coming to Ohio, and on to Iowa. I also don't know who his first wife is, whom I am descended from, other than her first name may be Cnythia or possibly Isabella Cnythia. He had two children of this marriage that died in Ohio before he went to Iowa, but I am also tracking the second family in hopes I may find clues with them. I know who his father and mother are, but no further, and we are hoping that middle names may be a help in finding them if anyone who reads this knows of any of his 9 children.

In the 1870 census of 1880 there is a ANDREW and CATHERINE LEININGER living with him, and after their name is written " charity" I have found no record of them anywhere else, and if they are any family members I cannot find the link, does anyone know who they are?

ALSO-- buried in the ELLSTON CEMETERY are RICHARD ARNOLD- and there is a stone for MAGGIE ARNOLD, she is WM's daughter, but she did not die there, nor was she buried with RICHARD ARNOLD. She re-married- WILLIAM REYNOLDS, also of Ringgold County,in Dec.1889. I cannot find accurate facts of this family, there seem to be mis-ups in records, and conflicting info-- and the gravestone for RICHARD ALIX ARNOLD seems to have incorrect dates on it, unless they divorced, which also does not seem likely, and if anyone else knows more aobut this, I would like to track them further also. RICHARD ARNOLD I believe died in 1889 at the age of 38, he being born in 1861. I have tracked MAGGIE CONE and WILLIAM REYNOLDS as far as I am able, found a couple of descendents, but they also have incomplete info. RICHARD AND MAGGIE ARNOLD SEEMED to be migrant workers at one point, but I cannot find their death records. There were 4 ARNOLD children so far as I have found, perhaps more.

WM also had a daughter, ROSANNA CONE LONG, married JOHN LONG in 1870 in Ringgold County, but I also do not know when she died, though I believe it was after 1885, as per state census records. In 1895, she appears to be missing. Is there a cemetery listing for her somewhere in the area?

I know this is long and involved, but possibly some may know of one of these persons.

I thank anyone who is able to help with ANY of this family, in ANY way. I appreciate your help, and am sorry the ball got dropped for a time on my end.
Sincerely
Margaret
