Obituary - Emmel Minnick

Emmel Everett Minnick, son of Jesse M. and Laura E. Minnick, was born April 8, 1904, in Ringgold County, and departed this life December 10, 1955, at the Ringgold County Hospital in Mt. Ayr, at the age of 51 years eight month and two days.

Zeke, as he was known, was a devoted father and husband and a hard worker, his main interest being the welfare of his family. He will long be remembered by his many friends and neighbors.

Left to mourn his departure are his devoted wife, Faresta; a daughter, Naomi Been, of Des Moines; a son Edward of the home; one granddaughter, Melody K.; a devoted mother in law Grandma Hanks; three brothers, Lee of Mount Ayr, Roy of Shannon City, and Bert of Wisdom, Mont.; two sisters, Zelpha of Corvallis, Ore. and Minnie Rice, of Lenox; other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral rites were held Tuesday afternoon, December 13, from the Kellerton Christian Church, conducted by the Rev. Gene Cherry, of Rockport, Mo. Music was provided by Mrs. Chester Hoffman and Mrs. Joe Hainline, accompanied by Mrs. Chris Hightshoe. Casket bearers were Paul Rice, Lewis Rice, Everett Brown, Burl Reynolds, Wayne George and Archie Palmer. Interment was in the Maple Row Cemetery at Kellerton.
