RODNEY RAY DOSER

Rodney Ray Doser, son of Raymond and Dola Mercer Doser was born Nov. 7, 1962 at the Ringgold County Hospital in Mount Ayr, Iowa and departed this life June 7, 1984 at Kellerton, Iowa at the age of 21 years and seven months.

Rodney lived his entire life in Kellerton. He attended the Grand Valley Schools, graduating in May, 1981. In school he participated in sports, band and Future Farmers of America.

He was a member of the Kellerton United Methodist Church having been baptized as an infant and received into full membership on Oct. 10, 1976.

Other community activities in which he had participated were Cub Scouts and 4-H Club.

On June 3, 1983 he was united in marriage to JoAnn Kay Hardy of Pleasanton, Iowa. Rod and JoAnn established their home in a mobile home across the road from his parents in Kellerton. Their trailer was completely demolished in the tornado that struck that part of town. At the time of his death Rod was employed by the Harold and Monte Akers farms and was trying to establish a farm of his own.

Rodney is survived by his wife, JoAnn, his parents, Raymond and Dola Doser, a brother Joseph; and two sisters, Barbara and Renee. He is also survived by his parents-in-law, John and Dolores Hardy; and sisters in law, Jolene Barnhardt, and Jane and Dreama Hardy, and brothers in law John and Dallas Hardy.

Also surviving are grandparents in law, John and Doris Sams and great grandparents in law John and Goldie Wise and Edith Overton. There are many other relatives including aunts and uncles, cousins, brother in law and a nephew and niece.

Rodney will be missed by his relatives, friends, and neighbors.

Services were held at the United Methodist Church in Kellerton, Iowa, on Monday, June 11, 1984 at 1:30 o'clock p.m. Officiating was Rev. Walter Zarr. Music was by Mrs. Weldon Meadows and Richard Jackson.

Casket bearers were Bryan Payton, Richard Mercer, Earl McAlexander, Terry Mercer, Michael Mercer and Eldon McAlexander. Burial was in Maple Row Cemetery, Kellerton, Iowa.
