Edith OBERMEIER, 98, Mount Ayr

Editha A. OBERMEIER, 98, of Mount Ayr died Jan. 29, 2004 [at the] Mount Ayr Health Care Center.

Services were Sunday, February 1st at Wilson-Watson and
Armstrong Funeral Home, 205 W. Monroe St., Mount Ayr. The Rev. Edward SHIELDS officiated the service.

Burial was at a later date in the Burge Cemetery at New London.

Mrs. OBERMEIER, daughter of Beatrice (DANIELS) and Edd DeGARMO, was born Aug, 13, 1905, in New London; On June 20, 1928, she married Melvin Hanks OBERMEIER in Stanwood. She was a school teacher at Tingley Shannon City, Beaconsfield, Afton and Mount Ayr. She was a member of Alpha Xi Delta Fraternity, Order of the Eastern Star Chapter No. 356 of Mount Ayr, Union Shrine No. 23, Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, Magdalene Rebekah Lodge No. 520, American Legion Auxiliary of Tingley and Federated Women's Club.

Survivors include a daughter, Lynn (husband Max) GILFILLAN-MORTON; one granddaughter and one great-grandson.
