OBITUARY ~ RANDY SCOTT SEYNAEVE
July 29, 1962 ~ January 20, 2018

Randy Scott Seynaeve was born on July 29, 1962 in Moline, IL. Born to parents Frederick Arthur and Frances Miller Seynaeve, he joined big brother Andy Dill Seynaeve at their home along the Rock River in Illinois. When Randy was five, his family grew to include step mom Ellen Seynaeve, then brother Dan Seynaeve. In November 1971, Randy’s family grew again with the addition of step father Gary Jackson, and the family moved to a farm outside Muscatine, Iowa, where they were later joined by sister Susan Elizabeth Jackson and brother Grant Gary Jackson.

A graduate of Muscatine High School Class of 1980, Randy served in the United States Army from 1981 to 1985. His tours of duty included Fort Lewis, Washington and Bad Kreuznach, Germany. The Army is where he began his career as a computer programmer.

In August 1988, Randy was awarded a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science from Iowa State University. He then began what would become a nearly 30 year career with Hewlett-Packard Company.

On October 6, 1990, Randy marred Sherri Lynn Smith at the United Methodist Church in Mount Ayr, Iowa. They were blessed with two children, Emily Frances Seynaeve born March 3, 1995 and Joshua Logan Seynaeve born July 8, 1997. Randy was a devoted father, always encouraging his children to reach their full potential, always doing all he could to give them the skills to be confident, strong, caring adults. His career took him around the world and he shared this with his children, instilling in them a passion for traveling and learning.

Randy was a volunteer puppy raiser for Canine Companions for Independence, raising puppies to be trained as service animals for people with disabilities. He had a great love for all the puppies in the program, and the puppies all seemed to love him as well.

Randy passed away in Singapore on January 20, 2018.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, mother, Frances Miller Seynaeve Jackson, brother, Dan Seynaeve, step-mother, Ellen Seynaeve.

He is survived by wife, Sherri Lynn (Smith) Seynaeve of Vancouver, Washington; daughter, Emily Frances Seynaeve, student at Chicago, Illinois; son, Joshua Logan Seynaeve, student at Pullman, Washington; father, Frederick Arthur Seynaeve of Milan, Illinois; step-father, Gary Jackson of Muscatine, Iowa; brother, Andy Dill Seynaeve (wife Janet) of Hampton, Illinois; sister, Susan Elizabeth Jackson of Iowa City, Iowa; brother, Grant Gary Jackson of Minneapolis, Minnesota; parents-in-law, Max and Joyce Smith of Mount Ayr, Iowa; sisters-in-law, Lesa (Rick) Klouda of Des Moines, Iowa and Sheila (Tony) Perreault of Silverdale, Washington; brother-in-law, Jeff (Tammy) Smith of Brighton, Colorado; nieces, nephews, cousins aunts and uncles.

We hurt so much because the life lived was so wonderful; we celebrate that all who knew him are better because he lived. He will be greatly missed.
