May 10, 1925 ~ January 08, 2018Allen Gene Peter Weeda was born May 10, 1925, in Creston, IA, to Dick and Kate (Romkee) Weeda of Ringgold County and passed away January 8, 2018 in Osceola, IA, at Southern Hills Specialty Care.
He graduated from Tingley High School in 1942 and helped on the family farm while his older brother was serving in the military during WWII.
At 19 years of age, Allen gave his life to the Lord, and was true to that commitment throughout his remaining years.
Allen was united in marriage to Marjorie Jean Johnson on September 7, 1948, and they had four children, Ben, Virginia, Henry and Mary. They began their life together on a farm near Polk City, and in 1951 they moved to the farm in Clarke County. Allen enjoyed the farming life as well as working several jobs in Osceola in later years. In 1998, they moved to Osceola and appreciated travelling in their retirement.
Allen was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Ira, Emma, William, Irven, Margaret, Elmer, and Wayne.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie of Osceola, children: Ben and Fern Weeda of Alliance, NE, Virginia and David Goodlaxson of Galesburg, IL, Henry and Elizabeth Weeda of Osceola, and Mary Weeda, Hinton, IA; grandchildren: Dan Weeda, Jim and Lynisha Weeda, Mark and Relyssa Weeda, Philip and Autumn Goodlaxson, Sarah Goodlaxson, Heather and Kyle Newman, Andrew Weeda; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services were conducted at 11:00 a.m. January 13,2018 at Kale Funeral Home, Osceola, Iowa. Interment was made at Maple Hill Cemetery, Osceola, Iowa.
Kale Funeral Home of Osceola was in charge of arrangements.
