OBITUARY ~ DIANE L. HALTER
November 20, 1954 ~ December 13, 2017

Diane’s funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 21st at the New Life Community Church of the Nazarene, 605 W; 8th St. N. in Newton.

The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.

Interment will be made at Newton Union Cemetery, Newton, Iowa.

Memorials to Diane’s family may be left at the church the morning of the service or at the funeral home. Memorials may also be mailed to the funeral home, please address, Attn: Halter Family on the envelope.

Diane, the daughter of Robert and Helen (Robertson) Halter, was born on November 20, 1954 in Newton. She graduated from Newton High School in 1973 and later received her B.A. in Education from MidAmerica Nazarene University in 1977. Diane worked as a high school teacher and librarian for many different school districts including Kellerton, Albert City and Saydel, retiring in 2010. While teaching she was also a speech and drama instructor and a cheerleading sponsor. Diane moved back to Newton in 2010 and was a member of the New Life Community Church of the Nazarene serving as a Sunday School teacher and Sunday School Superintendent. She enjoyed reading, ceramics, and the holidays. Diane was a devoted aunt and her nieces and nephews were her pride and joy.

Diane died on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Skiff Medical Center in Newton. She was 63. Diane was preceded in death by her father, Robert Halter.

Diane is survived by her mother, Helen Halter of Newton; sisters, Debra (Donald) Jennings of Littleton, Colorado and Lori (Doug) Terlouw of Lynnville; nieces and nephews, Alyssa (Bill) Elmore, Shawn Jennings (fiancé, Nicole Graham), Emily Terlouw, Mariah Terlouw, and Kyle Terlouw; and her great-niece and nephew, Aubryn Elmore and Ardan Elmore and one more great on the way.
