October 04, 1939 ~ January 06, 2017Max Scott, 81, of LaPorte, Texas, formerly of Alma, passed away Friday, Jan. 6, 2017 in his home.
He was a retired employee of Midwest Energy, a U.S. Army veteran and a member of Connect Community Church in Pasadena, Texas. He was born July 14, 1935 in Kellerton, Iowa to the late John and Fern (Sanders) Scott.
Max was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Scott.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Ocker Chapel in Alma with interment at Evergreen cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Alma.
Survivors include one daughter, LaAnn Richardson and husband Mark of Deer Park, Texas; two grandchildren, Daniel Richardson and Jamie Richardson, both of Deer Park; and two great-grandchildren, Abigail Richardson and Logan Richardson.
Pallbearers will be Mark Richardson, Daniel Richardson, Mark Cater, Donald Zollman, Robert Karnes and Gary Scott.
The family will visit with friends from 5-7 p.m. today at Ocker Funeral Home of Alma, 917 U.S. 64 east Alma.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105; NRA, 11250 Waples Mill Road, Fairfax, VA 22030; or Family Life Crusade, P.O. Box 7111, Little Rock, AR 72223-7111.
