Funeral services for Forrest (Pete) Harvey of Lenox were held Wednesday, Oct. 10, at the Clearfield United Methodist Church with Rev. Len Garrison and Rev. Tim Maxa officiating.
Music was provided by Jean Huffman and Chantelle Jennett. Casket bearers were Christopher Harvey, Galen Modlin, Rick Callison, Michael Harvey, Stanley Knox and Ivan Stephens. Interment was in the Clearfield Cemetery. Wilson-Watson &
Armstrong Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Forrest (Pete) Harvey was born Sept. 30, 1908, in the home place west of Clearfield. He was the son of Granville and Dora Knox Harvey. He attended country school at Grant #3 and "Cornbread College." He graduated from Clearfield High
School in 1928. He married Jean Worthington on June 11, 1938, in Clearfield. She passed away on Sept. 29, 1998.
Pete was a life-long farmer at the home place until his retirement in 1987 when he and Jean moved to Lenox. He was a member of the Clearfield United Methodist Church where he served on many committees and board. He was active as long as
his health permitted. In his earlier years he worked for the Taylor County Assessor and the ASCS office. He loved fishing and raised gardens throughout his life.
He passed away at his home in Lenox on Oct. 7, 2001.
Survivors include two children, Sanford Lee Harvey (wife Madeleine) of Orange, Virginia, and Kathleen M. Winfree of Lenox; grandchildren Darin A. Winfree (wife Lisa) of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa, and Michael J. Harvey of Blackburg, Virginia;
great-granddaughters Miranda J. Mercer and Bittie Willit of Sergeant Bluff; one sister, Hazel Knox Lundberg of Denver, Colo.; sister-in-law Gail Rothmeyer of Dallas, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Jean; brothers Bill and Paul; sisters Edith and Opal; and son-in-law Wyman (Joe) Winfree.
