OBITUARY ~ MRS. AMOS NICOLA.

Mary Ellen DOUGHTY, daughter of James and Frances DOUGHTY, was born January 27, 1862, in Jefferson county, Iowa, and passed away February 11, 1946, in Fullerton, Calif., at the age of 84 years and 16 days.

On December 25, 1884, she was married to Harvey A. CAVINESS at Fairfield, Iowa. To this union were born four children, Mrs. A. W. THOMPSON, of Myrtle Point, Ore., Friend H. CAVINESS, of Indianola, and Clifford T. CAVINESS, of Lynwood, Calif., with whom she had made her home for the last year, and a daughter who died in infancy.

Her husband passed away October 12, 1893, near Mount Ayr, Iowa. She then moved to College View, Neb., and on March 14, 1899, she was united in marriage to Amos Z. NICOLA, who was with her through her illness.

She united with the Seventh Day Advent church in the year of 1885 and lived a faithful Christian life.

She leaves to mourn her going her husband, three children, eleven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and four step-sons.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, February 18, at two o'clock from the Rhoades Funeral Home in Mount Ayr, conducted by Hampton WHITE of Osceola, and Rendall CAVINESS of Marshalltown. Interment was made in Rose Hill cemetery.

Those from a distance who attended the services included Ben NICOLA, of Gurensey, Wyo., Leroy T. NICOLA, of Torrington, Wyo., Amos NICOLA and Mr. and Mrs. Clifford CAVINESS, of Lynwood, Calif., Mr. and Mrs. D. K. NICOLA and Mrs. and Mrs. W. NICOLA, of Worthington, Ohio, Mr. and Mrs. F. H. CAVINESS, Mr. and Mrs. Leoren CAVINESS, Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert CAVINESS, Mr. and Mrs. Philip HARTMAN, and Mr. and Mrs. Merle TROTTER, of Indianola, Mr. and Mrs. Walter CAVINESS and three sons, of Nevada, Mr. and Mrs. Rendall CAVINESS, of Marshalltown, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis NEAL, of Osceola, Leslie BLAUER, of St. Joseph, Mo., and Mr. and Mrs. Geo. STEPHENS, Mr. and Mrs. Howard STEPHENS and Donald STEPHENS, of Clearfield.
