Bud C. BROWN, 72, of Creston, died July 23, 2009, at the Greater Regional Medical Center.
No public services will be held. Open visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. July 26, at Powers Funeral Home, junctions of highways 34 and 25, Creston. Memorials may be directed to Creston Congregate Meal Site or Creston Animal Rescue Shelter. Online condolences may be given at www.powersfh.com.
Bud Corwin BROWN, son of Silvia Norene (CHANDLER) and Cornelius BROWN, was born Nov. 29, 1936, near Kent. He graduated from Diagonal High School and went to airline school in Kansas City, Mo. Bud began farming in Union County, before going to work with Fansteel/Wellmans Dynamics in 1964. In 1970, he started trucking, first with Orval DADY, then with Kenny CALVIN, before working 23 years with Werner Trucking of Omaha.
On June 15, 1957, he married Marilyn MILLER in Diagonal. Bud and Marilyn divorced in 1977.
On Aug. 19, 1978, Bud married Chrystal SCHROEDER in Creston. They divorced in 1987.
On Dec. 28, 1991, Bud married Sheryl SPRAGUE in Creston. They lived in Creston.
Bud is survived by his wife Sheryl BROWN; daugher Kim (husband Darrell) ROBERTSON of Corning; sons, Steven (wife Dana) BROWN of Elkhorn and Kevin (wife Andrea) BROWN of Texas; grandchildren; one step-grandchild; brother Harlan (wife Lilia) BROWN of Sun City, Ariz.; sisters, Mara Lou (husband Oren) JETER of Crston and Sharon (husband Ivan) SOBOTKA of Diagonal.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents.
