OBITUARY ~ W. C. CURRY
Warren Cassil CURRY, son of J. C. and Thena CURRY, was born December 24, 1879, in Madison county, Iowa, and passed away January 21, 1945, at the Greater Community hospital in Creston, Iowa, at the age of 65 years, one month and 28 days.
He grew to manhood and attended the rural schools in Ringgold county. He was married to Sarah Rebecca KASTER on March 5, 1901. To this union were born four children, three daughters, Beulah, Lorene and Bernice, and one son, Glen.
Mr. CURRY was converted and became a member of the Nazarene church in 1926. He dearly loved his wife and family and was a true friend and helpful neighbor. He was loved by everyone who knew him for his kindness and consideration of others and was an untiring and conscientious worker. His untimely death is greatly regretted by the many friends of the family.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sarah Rebecca CURRY; two daughters, Mrs. Beulah YASHACK and Mrs. Bernice COLE, of Des Moines; a son, Cpl. Glen CURRY, who is serving with the U.S. Army on the western front; six grandchildren and one brother, Rev. C. G. CURRY of Carthage, Mo. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Lorene, in 1925, and one granddaughter, Iona May YASHACK, in 1931.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, January 23, at 2:30 o'clock from the Baptist church in Mount Ayr, conducted by the Rev. Forrest BACKOUS, pastor of the Diagonal Church of the Nazarene. Interment was made in the Diagonal cemetery.
