OBITUARY ~ DOROTHY M. (BREES) BOWMAN RHODES
February 08, 1918 ~ April 20, 2002

Dorothy M. RHODES, age 84, of Tingley, Iowa formerly of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2002 in Creston, Iowa. Dorothy was born February 8, 1918 in Pacetown, Missouri the daughter of Raymond and Goldia (GREEN) BREES. She graduated from the Stanton High School in 1936 and lived in the southwest Iowa area all of her life. She was united in marriage to Charles BOWMAN in 1938 and later married John Duane "Dusty" RHODES in 1976. Dusty preceded her in death in 1982.

Dorothy worked in Housekeeping at St. Joseph's Hospital in Omaha and also took care of homebound patients most recently. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church, the REAC Club and the Red Oak Eagles Lodge.

She was also preceded in death by her children's father: Charles BOWMAN; her parents; brother: Vernon BREES; an infant brother; and 2 brothers-in-law: Richard HALL and Clarence THORNE.

Survivors include her daughter: Virginia RICHARDS and her husband Frank of Tingley, Iowa; 4 sons: Robert BOWMAN and his wife Nancy of Winterset, Iowa; Chuck BOWMAN and his wife Becky of Red Oak, Iowa; Merrill BOWMAN and his wife Rose of Council Bluffs, Iowa; and Richard BOWMAN and his wife Bev of Omaha, Nebraska; many many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother: Deane BREES and his wife Darlene of Nodaway, Iowa; 2 sisters: Juanita THORNE and Maxine HALL both of Red Oak, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.

Interment was made at Evergreen Cemetery.

Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel of Red Oak was in charge of arrangements.
