Maxon LeRoy BARNETT, 79, Ozark, died Jan. 11, 2012, in Mesa, Ariz. He was was born on June 12, 1932, in Allendale [Missouri], to Gladys (AUSTIN) and Frank BARNETT. He attended a one-room school house during elementary school and finished the eighth grade in Redding, Iowa.
Max and Ruth (GONDRINGER) were married in Trenton on June 17, 1951, and graduated from North Central Bible Institute in May of 1952. They spent 20 years in Minnesota where Max managed sales first for The Fuller Brush Company and subsequently for The Winona Monument Company. In 1970, together with their three children, they returned to Missouri where Max became a partner with John GONDRINGER in Gondringer-Barnett Quarries.
After his retirement he took a position with Abraham Lincoln Insurance Company as their sales manager and later became their corporate pilot. He then launched "BARNETT Painting Business."
He had a variety of interests including golfing, fishing, hunting, flying and traveling first by motorcylce then in their R.V.
Max is preceded in death by both parents and one brother, R. D. BARNETT of Mexico.
He is survived by Ruth, his wife of 60 years, son Gary BARNETT (Montie) of Greenfield, Calif.; son Jon BARNETT (Mary Jo) of Edina, Minn.; daughter Carla MARROQUIN (Roberto) of Trenton; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Interment will be in [Rose Hill Cemetery] Mt. Ayr, Iowa.
