OBITUARY ~ RICHARD DEAN LINDEMAN
August 23, 1944 ~ June 10, 2012Richard Dean LINDEMAN, son of Leland & Caroline (FLOCK) LINDEMAN, was born August 23, 1944 at Stanhope, Iowa. Richard graduated from Stanhope High School in 1962. He served 7 years in the U.S. Armed Forces [National Guard].
On June 21, 1986, he married Janice CARLSON LINDEMAN. Richard has lived in Ringgold County since 1984. He had worked at Southway Trucking. Since 1984, Richard has worked at various service stations, the Co-op, and was a short distance hauler for the Amish Community. Richard was a member of Ringgold Post #172 American Legion in Mount Ayr. He liked to go fishing in his spare time. Richard enjoyed having some horses and a few cows.
Richard passed away on June 10, 2012.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother.
Survivors include his wife Janice LINDEMAN of Mount Ayr; daughter Colleen VANDERFLUGHT & husband Al of St. Charles, Iowa; grandchildren Kelsie & Megan WHITSON and Luke & Curt VANDERFLUGHT; brother Phillip LINDEMAN & wife Jan of Wisconsin; sister Marilyn REHM & husband Gene of Dows, Iowa; sister-in-law Diane LINDEMAN of Wisconsin; nieces, nephews, and friends.
A memorial fund has been established in his name.
Funeral Mass was held at St. Joseph Catholic Church of Mount Ayr at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 14, 2012, with Fr. Glen WILWERDING officiating. Music was by Betsy KEENAN.
Honorary pallbearers were John PETERS, DVM, Paul McKINNEY, Gary BICKERS, Larry ADAMS, Jim EASON, Don ZOLLMAN, Bill SCHAEFER, Larry DENNEY, Tom FORD, Howard JOHNSON and Kenneth HEBENSPERGER.
Military rites were provided by Ringgold Post #172 and the Iowa Honor Guard Unit.
Interment was made at Benton Cemetery, Benton.
Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home of Mount Ayr was in charge of arrangements.
