November 11, 1982OBITUARY ~ LLOYD GEORGE SAVILLE
Lloyd George SAVILLE, son of George and Nettie MEKEMSON SAVILLE, was born October 26, 1904 in Redding, Iowa and departed this life on January 19, 1987 in Mount Ayr, Iowa at the age of 82.
Lloyd spent his early life on a farm and attended Rose Hill country school. He graduated from Delphos High School, received a B.A. degree from Simpson College and continued his education at the University of Iowa.
He began his teaching career as an industrial arts teacher and coach in Callender, Iowa. Later in 1935, he became superintendent of the Callender School.
On June 1, 1935 he was united in marriage with Mildred WORTHINGTON at Clearfield, Iowa. They were blessed with five children, Jacob, Anna, Paula, James and Ellen.
In 1942 they moved to a farm in Ringgold County where he continued to be an administrator and teacher, spending thirty years in the school room. He also taught a veterans' agriculture program in Ringgold County following the war.
Lloyd was a life-long member of the Methodist church, joining the Middle Fork Methodist Church early in his life and later transferring to the Redding Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Henry and Leland; his son, Jacob, and his granddaughter, Janet SAVILLE.
Left to mourn his death are his wife, Mildred; his children, Ann RIDENOUR of Ruskin, Nebraska; Paula DIMIT of Albuquerque, New Mexico; daughter-in-law, Kay SAVILLE of Iowa City; James SAVILLE and wife, Marilyn, of Mount Ayr, and Ellen ELLIOT and husband, Craig, of Mount Ayr; his six grandchildren, Jeff RIDENOUR, Derric SAVILLE, Dana DIMIT, Doug SAVILLE, Angela and Chris ELLIOTT; his sisters, Bernice LARSEN of Atlantic; Annabelle BRISTOL of Stuart; Ethel MARTIN of New Providence; his brother, Keith and wife, Bettie, of Vista, California; nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held January 22, 1987, from the Wilson-Watson Funeral Home in Mount Ayr, Iowa, conducted by Rev. Ed KAIL. Music was provided by Mr. and Mrs. Merrill PERRY.
Casketbearers were James NEAS, Leo McDANIEL, Jack ELLIOTT, Lowell HOWIE, George SAVILLE and Kenneth LAMBERT. Honorary pallbearers were John SHAFER, Royce DAVIS, Vance GEIGER, Glenn AUSTIN, James GRIFFITH, Walter PETERSEN and Clarence WAUGH. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery at Mount Ayr, Iowa.
