Minnie May SAMUELS, age 79, of Wapello, died Monday morning, November 14, 1988 at St. Francis Continuation & Care Center, Burlington, Iowa. She was born March 18, 1909 at Bachelor, Missouri, the daughter of Madison and Emma ROBINSON CARY.
Minnie CARY married Carl SAMUELS on September 6, 1933 at Oskaloosa, Iowa. She was a homemaker and with her husband farmed in the Morning Sun and Wapello communities for may years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Wapello; Royal Neighbors of America #9789, Morning Sun; and the Sunshine Club, Wapello.
Minnie SAMUELS is survived by her husband, Carl; one daughter, Edna Marie SMALL, Mount Ayr, Iowa; one son, Burton, Wapello; five granchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Verna POTHOVEN, New Sharon, Iowa and Grace HAMILTON, Morning Sun; and two brothers, Emmett CARY and Dennis CARY, both of Morning Sun, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Charlie and Lloyd, and one granddaughter, Carol Ann SMALL.
Funeral services for Minnie SAMUELS were held Thursday, November 17, 1988, at Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home, Wapello, with Rev. George YETTER officiating. Casketbearers included Jeff SMUELS, Reed DOWELL, Steve SMALL, Mitch ENGLAND, Dean CARY and Paul Pothoven. Flower attendenants included Merna DOWELL, Sandra HYDE and Melinda SMALL. Burial was in the Wapello Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established for the benefit of the United Methodist Church and the Wapello Rescue Unit.
