Barrans, Joseph Denison -
Joseph Denison, son of Thomas and Sarah Barrans, was born in Bureau County, Ill., Feb. 9, 1873 and departed this life at his home in West Clearfield April 25, 1954 at the age of 81 years.

He moved with his family to Lenox in 1874 and grew to manhood there. At an early age he became a member of the Presbyterian church in Lenox. After teaching for a time he became a farmer, later he entered the livery and horse buying business in Clearfield. At all times he was interested in the affairs of his nation and was well informed about its government.

On March 22, 1905 he was united in marriage to Miss Bessie Crew, daughter of James and Viola Crew. To this union were born 5 children, two dying in infancy. Surviving him are his wife, two daughters, Helen Hicks of Bolckow, Mo., and Barbara Robison of Gaylord, Ore.; one son Joseph C of Portland, Ore., and 3 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Christian church. Rev Wm Howes officiated Burial in Clearfield.
