Shay, Gertrude Shields -
Word has been received in Clearfield of the death of Mrs. Chas. Shay, 74, the former Gertrude Shields, in Des Moines on July 4th, after an illness of three years. She was a long-time resident of Ringgold county and was known in the Clearfield vicinity. Funeral services were held July 6th in St. Augustine church in Des Moines. She is survived by her husband, three sons, Ralph and Paul of Des Moines and Edward of Burbank, Calif.; one daughter, Lucille McGrath of San Bernadino, Calif.; also one brother, Tom Shields of Des Moines and a sister, Mrs. R. C Bevington of Mt. Ayr.
