Smith, Adeline Bristow -
Adeline Bristow, daughter of Ralph and Lavina Bristow, was born in Cedar county near Humansville, Mo. November 6, 1861, and departed this life on March 23, 1943, in Des Moines, Iowa at the age of 81 years, 4 months and 19 days.
She was united in marriage to Charles Smith on February 17, 1891, and to this union were born seven children. Two preceded her in death. Those who survive are Mrs. Walter Hubbard of Shannon City, Mrs. Elza Bowers of Blockton, Mrs. Paul Flichter and Mrs. Elmer Flichter of Randolph, and Mrs. May Sparling of Des Moines, by a former marriage. Also thirteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren and the many friends she had made throughout her long life.

At the age of thirty she united with the Holiness church at Athelstan, Ia. and was a devout member of that congregation at the time of her death.

Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Thomas Rhoades at the Rhoades Funeral Home in Mt. Ayr Thursday afternoon and interment was in the Mt. Ayr cemetery.
