Laird, Mary Lenora Davis–
Funeral services were Saturday, December 12 [1942], from the Church of Christ in Lenox for Mrs. Lenora Laird, 67, who died at her home here Thursday, December 10.

Surviving is a daughter, Mrs. Florence Gray of Brooks, Ia., three grandchildren, Loren, Billy and Jimmy Gray, six sisters, Mrs. Blanche Key of Lenox, Mrs. Clara Gouchneour of Fredonia, Kans., Mrs. Inez Gold of Mt. Ayr, Mrs. Beulah Boggs of Oxford, Kans., and Mrs. Elsie Keesling, and Mrs. Bonnie Hankins of Fredonia; three brothers, Elmo Davis of Fredonia, Will Davis of Coffeyville, Kans. and Art Davis of Foreman, North Dakota.

Rites were conducted by the Rev. E. F. Hagee. Burial was in Lenox cemetery.

Laird, Mary Lenora Davis–
Mary Lenora Laird, daughter of George and Emma Davis, was born six miles west of Lenox on January 3, 1878 and died December 10, 1942 at the age of 66 years, 11 months and eight days.

She was married to Homer L. Laird on January 21, 1899 and to this union was born a daughter, Florence.

Mrs. Laird spent several years as a public school teacher in Taylor and Ringgold counties. At an early age she confessed her faith in Christ and became a member of the Blue Grove Christian church where she served as a teacher in several department of the church school.
Later she transferred her membership to the Lenox Church of Christ.

She moved with her husband to Kellerton, Iowa in 1899 where they lived until they moved to Lenox, Ia., to make their home with her aged father who died March 28, 1936.

She then cared for her invalid husband who passed away April 29, 1937.

She leaves her daughter, Mrs. Florence Gary of Brooks, Ia.; three grandchildren, Loren, Billy and Jimmy; six sisters, Mrs. Blanche Key of Lenox, Mrs. Clara Gouchneour of Fredonia, Kans., Mrs. Inez Gold of Mt. Ayr, Mrs. Beulah Briggs of Oxford, Kans, Mrs. Elsie Keesling and Mrs. Bonnie Hankins, also of Fredonia, three brothers, Elmo Davis of Fredonia, Will Davis of Coffeyville, Kans. and Art Davis of Foreman, N.D.
