OBITUARY - GLADYS PRENTIS, MOUNT AYR

MOUNT AYR - Gladys PRENTIS, 89, of Mount Ayr died Monday afternoon, Sept. 19, 1988, at the Mount Ayr Health Care Center>

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Mount Ayr. The Rev. Carmen LAMPE will officiate with burial in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Mount Ayr. A family night will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Wilson-Watson Funeral Home here.

A memorial has been established to the First Baptist Church in Mount Ayr.

Mrs. PRENTIS was born Jan. 22, 1899, in Kirksville, Mo., to George and Fannie (RICHARDS) TENNANT. She married X. T. PRENTIS June 12, 1919, in Ringgold County, and he died in 1978. She spent most of her life in Ringgold County and was a housewife. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mount Ayr, PEO, and Narcissus Club.

Survivors include a daughter, Jean (Mrs. Wesley) REGER of Horsehead, N.Y.; two sons, Richard of Mount Ayr and Raymond PRENTIS of Ottumwa; a son-in-law, Richard WITTMANN of New Smryna Beach, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild, and a sister, Edna ANDERSON of Mount Ayr.
