OBITUARY - JIMMIE CARROLL "JIM" BROSAM, SR.
December 18, 1937 - July 15, 2010

Jimmie Carroll "Jim" BROSAM Sr., 72, of Danville, Illinois, formally of Tingley, Iowa, died on Thursday, July 15, 2010, at the VA Hospital in Danville, Illinois.

Funeral services and burial with Robinson Funeral Chapel of Catlin, Illinois and Chaplin Ron ZIEMER officiating were held at VA National Cemetery in Danville, Illinois on Friday, July 23, 2010. Jimmie C. BROSAM, Sr. was buried with full military honors with a 21 gun salute. Memorials may be directed to Jim's family, in care of Angela (BROSAM) LISTER, 415 E. Main Street, Tingley, Iowa.

Jim was born on December 18, 1937 to Frank and Pearl (DUSKIN) BROSAM in Decatur, Nebraska. Jim grew up on the family farm near Massena, Iowa. After graduating from Cumberland high school in 1956, Jim joined the U.S. Navy. Jim became an aviation structural mechanic and military police officer until late 1962. In 1959 Jim wed Virginia Mae BOWMAN in Corning, Iowa. They later divorced in 1976. Jim worked for Wellman Dynamics in Creston, Iowa for about eight years. After leaving Tingley in 1976, Jim worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for numerous years, then retiring in Danville.

Jim is survived by his sons, Jimmie C. BROSAM, Jr. of Iowa City, Iowa and Dale BROSAM of Mount Ayr, Iowa; daughter, Angela (BROSAM) LISTER of Tingley, Iowa; brothers, Clearance BROSAM and wife LaVonne of Nebraska and Richard BROSAM of Texas; grandchildren, Tiffany BROSAM and fiance Andy PETERSON, Danielle BROSAM and fiance J. J. DRISKOL, Nicole SMITH and fiance Jason MARTIN, Robin LISTER, Taylor PAPPAS and Carley PAPPAS; great-grandchildren, Jaylee DRISKOL, Aydan BLOOMER and Ethan MARTIN, and many nieces and nephews.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Albert BROSAM and Harry BROSAM and wife Evelyn; sisters, Lorena BROSAM, Lorita NIELSON and Gladys TILLIT and husband Gerald; sister in-law, Charlene BROSAM, and niece, Tricia BROSAM.
