OBITUARY - JOHN BOYD

John BOYD, son of Henry Russell and Margaret Edie BOYD, was born Jan. 2, 1896 at Tinley, Iowa. After his schools days in Tingley he enrolled in Tarkio College and attended there until he was called into the service of his country during World War I. After his discharge from the Army he returned to Tarkio College and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree. He then entered into farming with his father in the Tingley area.

In 1924 he married Alice MITCHELL. To this union was born two children: Russell Mitchell BOYD and Mary Alice HUCKABA.

In addition to his wife and children he leaves one daughter-in-law, DonNell BOYD; and one son-in-law, Elmer HUCKABA; three sisters, Marjorie PETERSOHN of Tingley, Helen COCHRANE of Eugene, Ore., Pauline LYNAM of Des Moines; four grandchildren; one grandson-in-law; three great-grandchildren; and many relatives and friends.

A memorial service was conducted by Rev. Clarejean HAURY at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 24, 1982 at the Tingley United Presbyterian Church. Music was by vocalists Mrs. Gary BICKERS and Melanie TRULLINGER, with Mrs. Mildred SMITH accompanying on the organ.

Burial was in the Tingley Cemetery.
