1910 - 2010Cora SPENCER, 100, passed away Monday, July 26, 2010 at Hospice Kavanagh House in Des Moines, Iowa.
Cora was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, dancing and cooking for family gatherings, especially those that ended playing pitch.
Cora is survived by her children, Betty WICKS of Adel, Iowa, Delores (Richard) KEESEY of Hannibal, Missouri, Melvin (Rose) SPENCER and Arthur (Kim) SPENCER both of Waukee, Iowa and Barbara STRALEY of Des Moines, Iowa, 27 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and 31 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard, and her children, Raymond Dean SPENCER, Don SPENCER and Kay BANNICK and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 28 at the First Christian Church in Adel, Iowa with grave side services following at Maple Row Cemetery in Kellerton, Iowa.
Iles Funeral Homes in Des Moines was in charge of the arrangements. Memorials may be made to the family for a memorial to be directed later.
