OBITUARY

Samuel L., son of Charles and Jane MORELAND, was born in Fayette county, Ohio, June 7, 1858, and died at his home northwest of Shannon City, IA, April 1, 1934, aged 75 years, 10 months and 16 days.

In 1885 he was married to Emma GINGERICH. To them were born six children, three boys and three girls: Mabel E. RYAN, of Urbana, IL., Arthur F. of Afton, IA., Blanche C. LININGER, of Shannon City, Rolland R. of Compton, Calif., Merle B. of Mt. Ayr, and Madeline M., at home.

In 1893 he came to Iowa and settled in Union County, with his family. He resided in this county since that time. When a young man he united with the Christian Church. He leaves his wife, six children and seven grandchildren.
