OBITUARY - MRS. VERNE McKEE

Laurel, daughter of James E. and Mary E. MUNKERS MASON, was born April 10, 1892 in Kit Carson County, Colorado, and departed this life on on Jul 2, 1963, at the age of 71 years.

She was married March 30, 1921, in the home of her parents at North Platte, Nebraska, to Verne Clark McKEE, of Arispe, Iowa. Two children were born to this union: a son, Everett, who died October 11, 1946, and a daughter, Eleanor, who makes her home in Ames, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, one brother, and her son, Everett. Those who survive are her husband Verne, her daughter Eleanor; two brothers, Jean MASON of North Platte, Nebr., and Lawrence MASON of Lincoln, Nebr.; four sisters, Mrs. Era OLSON and Mrs. Hazel ROBERTS, both of North Platte, Nebr., Mrs. Wilbur OWENS of Vancouver, Washington, and Mrs. Aileen MASON of Beatrice, Nebraska.

She united with the Methodist church when a young woman and was active in church and Sunday school work. At the time of her death she was a member of the Afton Methodist church.

Relatives here for the funeral of Mrs. Verne McKEE were: Mr. and Mrs. Jean MASON, Mrs. Era OLSON, Mrs. Hazel ROBERTS, all of North Platte, Nebr.; Mrs. Lawrence MASON of Lincoln, Nebr.; Miss Elsie MASON of Des Moines, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Andrew OSTREM of Weldon, Iowa; Mrs. Walter PARSON, Mrs. Schubert PARSON and Diana, all of Centerville, Iowa.

CARD of THANKS

Words cannot begin to express our deep apreciation (sic) to each one who with words of comfor and deeds of kindness has helped us in our hour of sorrow. We are esecially (sic) grateful for the memorials, for our wife andmother, made to the American Cancer Society.
