RITES for MRS. HENRY TOMORROW
SHANNON CITY - Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Shannon City Presbyterian church for Mrs. A. M. HENRY, 81, formerly of Shannon and Afton, who died Saturday afternoon [July 3, 1943] at Gladbrook, Iowa, following two years of failing health.
Born Dec. 12, 1861, in eastern Iowa, Mrs. HENRY moved west during her girlhood and after her marriage [November 17, 1880] at Corning to the late S[amuel]. F[inney]. HENRY, she lived on a farm east of Afton and later on a farm near Shannon City until his death in 1918. She made her home the past four years at Gladbrook with a daughter, Mrs. [Sadie Florence] Chancy ALLARD. She was a member of the Presbyterian church.
Surviving are seven sons, Robert HENRY of Traer, Will HENRY of Creston, Fred HENRY of Prineville, Ore., Leland HENRY of Iowa Falls, Alfred HENRY of Afton and Donald HENRY of Grundy Center; and three daughters, Mrs. [Grace Belle] E[arl]. B[arnes]. DELZELL of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. ALLARD and Mrs. [Helen Minerva] George Dunlap SMITH of Reinbeck, Iowa. Another son, Rolland HENRY (sic, James Ronald), preceded her in death in 1918. The sons will serve as pallbearers.
