DOROTHY LAURINE (BROWN) TURNER
Dorothy Laurine TURNER was born to Floyd & Phyllis (JACOBS) BROWN on January 26, 1925 at Montour, Iowa.
Dorothy graduated from Gilman High School in 1944. She served her country in the U.S. Navy for one year.
On January 23, 1947, Dorothy was united in marriage to Clarence L. TURNER in Marshalltown, Iowa. They lived at Chariton and Russell, Iowa for about four years before moving near St. Anthony to farm. Dorothy was a homemaker and mother. Dorothy had two loves in her life. Her family meant everything to her and she loved them deeply. The other was the Lord. Dorothy was an active member of the United Church of Christ in Clemons, Iowa. She read her Bible every night. Dorothy enjoyed other things in life too. She loved all types of music, the game Bunco, and her cat Princess. Dorothy retired to Cedar Park, Texas after Clarence passed away on February 28, 2004. Dorothy has lived near Austin, Texas since November of 2004.
Dorothy passed away on June 20, 2007 in Mount Ayr, Iowa while visiting family.
In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by a granddaughter Libby PETERSON; sister Nancy HUBER; and brother Keith BROWN.
Those left to cherish her memory include two daughters Sandi PETERSON & husband Lloyd and Pat RAYBURN & husband Jack, all of Round Rock, Texas and two sons Jim TURNER & wife Julie of Fairfield, Connecticut and Gary TURNER & wife Deanna of Diagonal, Iowa; grandchildren Marissa PETERSON, Eric PETERSON, Jeremy SUTTON & wife Robin, Jamie TURNER, Zara TURNER, Dustyn TURNER, and Stephanie SWANSON & husband Mark; 5 great-grandchildren; and one sister Carol GUMMERT & husband Tom of Cassville, Missouri; other relatives and a host of friends.
Memorials are setup for Central Iowa Hospice at Mount Ayr and United Church of Christ in Clemons, IA.
Services were held Saturday, June 30, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. from United Church of Christ at Clemons, Iowa.

MOUNT AYR, IA -- Dorothy Laurine TURNER, 82, of Austin, Texas, formerly of St. Anthony, Iowa, died June 20, 2007, in Mount Ayr while visiting family.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at United Church of Christ in Clemons, with Larry KECK officiating. Burial will follow in Clemons Cemetery. Mrs. TURNER was cremated and there will be no visitation prior to services. Memorials can be made to Hospice of Central Iowa, Mt. Ayr Branch and Clemons Church of Christ. Arrangements entrusted to Wilson-Watson & Armstrong Funeral Home in Mount Ayr. Condolences maybe left at www.watsonarmstrongfh.com
