OBITUARY - HAROLD ELLIS HILL

Harold Ellis HILL, 84, of Creston died of a heart attack April 19, 2005, in rural Ringgold County.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 23, at the United Methodist Church in Tingley. The Rev. Brian OLIVER will officiate the service. There is no visitation. Memorials may be directed to United Methodist Church in Tingley. Wilson-Watson and Armstrong Funeral Home, 205 W. Monroe St., Mount Ayr, has charge of arrangements. He was cremated.

Mr. HILL, son of Nellie (HOOVER) and Fletcher HILL, was born June 8, 1920, in Tingley Township, Ringgold County. He graduated from Tingley High School and Creston Junior College. He married Shirley LUDDINGTON. He farm north of Tingley and moved to Creston in the late 1970s. He also worked part-time at the Creston News Advertiser. He was a World War II veteran and a pilot in the Navy Air Corps.

Survivors include three children, Eric (wife Cindy) HILL of Afton, Carol RICKER of West Des Moines and Diane (husband Tim) RICHARDSON of Omaha, Neb.; six grandchildren, Shawna ROOK, Jennifer HILL, Luke RICKER, Clint RICKER, Elizabeth RICHARDSON and Jimmy RICHARDSON, great-grandson Lane ROOK; sister-in-law Velma HILL of Tingley and brother-in-law Tom UHLMAN of Long Beach, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother Harris HILL and sister Helen UHLMAN.
