BILLY MAX WYMAN

Billy Max WYMAN, son of Carl and Grace (MOTSINGER) WYMAN, was born August 6, 1922 on a farm east of Grant City, Missouri and departed this life February 13, 2008 at the Clearview Nursing Home in Mount Ayr, Iowa.

Billy moved with his parents as a young boy to a farm northwest of Maloy and lived in that area the rest of his life. He graduated from Maloy High School in 1942 and on August 20, 1943 he joined the Army being honorably discharged March 24, 1946. He is currently a member of the American Legion Post 443, Blockton, Iowa.

On November 24, 1946 he was united in marriage with Geraldine Hope RINEHART in Mount Ayr. The couple started farming near his parents northwest of Maloy. Billy was happiest when working on the farm, providing for his family and helping neighbors, friends and family whenever possible.

He was preceded in death by his wife Hope, a brother Junior WYMAN, a sister Virginia BROWN, a brother-in-law Kenneth BROWN, a brother-in-law Iver WACKERNAGLE, and an infant grandson Brian Carl WYMAN.

Left to cherish his memory are a daughter, Sandra BASTOW and husband Keith of West Des Moines, Iowa, a daughter Teresa HEISLER and husband Gene of Bennington, Nebraska, a son Barry WYMAN and wife Vicki of Lyman, Nebraska, a sister Arloa WACKERNAGLE of Bedford, Iowa, and a sister-in-law Betty WYMAN of Omaha, Nebraska, five grandchildren, Suzan BASTOW of West Des Moines, Iowa, Sharyn (husband Kevin) WHITTINGTON of Des Moines, Iowa, Mike BASTOW of Granger, Iowa, Daniel (wife Andrea) HEISLER of Omaha, Nebraska and Tracy (husband Brad) PAYNE of Mitchell, Nebraska. And nine great-grandchildren, Taylor, Mackenzie, Kaylee, Julia, and Kadin WHITTINGTON, Kaitlyn and Ashley HEISLER, and Kyle and Gracie PAYNE.

Services were held Saturday, February 16, 2008 at 2:30 p.m. from Wilson-Watson & Armstrong Funeral Home, Mount Ayr, Iowa.
