OBITUARY - JOHN L. WILLIAMS

JOHN L. WILLIAMS, 92, of Auburn, formerly of Waterloo, died Wednesday, January 5, 2005, at Wesley Health Care, Auburn [IN]. Born December 19, 1912, in Mount Ayr, Iowa, he was the son of John Albert and Helen Josephine (WOOD) WILLIAMS. He owned and operated Owl's Roost Antiques, in Waterloo. He was a World War II Navy Veteran and was a 59 year member of American Legion Post 97, Auburn. He married Jewell (DARLING) on May 16, 1947, in Auburn, she died April 8, 1984. Surviving are daughter, Julie K. SPROAT of Waterloo; one grandson, Scott and wife, Stacy SPROAT of Auburn; and three great-grandchildren, Will, Ty and Reid SPROAT. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; six sisters; and one brother. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Saturday at Feller Funeral Home, Waterloo. Father Dave CARKENROD officiating. Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial at Catholic Cemetery, Auburn. Memorials to Dekalb County Heart Association or Dekalb Humane Society.
