OBITUARY - TRUSTEN C. WILKINSON

Trusten C. WILKINSON, 87, of Grant City [MO] died Saturday, December 28, 1996, at Ringgold County Hosptial in Mount Ayr following a short illness but a long, happy life.

Trusten was born in Allendale [MO] April 3, 1909, to Aubrey L. and Maude (HUNT) WILKINSON on the family farm. In addition to farming, he was a bus driver for the school district, served as deputy sheriff of Worth County [MO], and later served as sheriff for two terms.

He was a member of the RLDS Church of Allendale, Allendville Lodge No. 198 AF&AM, and the Order of Eastern Star.

He was an avid horseman his entire life and participated inthe rerun of the Pony Express Centennial Celebration from St. Joseph to Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1960. He was a charter member of the Worth County Sheriff's Posse.

On June 25, 1929, he married Leah CONN in Mount Ayr. She survives of the home.

Trusten was preceded in death by his parents, Aubrey and Maude WILKINSON; his brother, Donald J. WILKINSON, and his granddaughter, Mary Beth WILKINSON.

Survivors include his five children, a daughter, Donna Rae and her husband LeRoy MOSBARGER, who are parents of Susan HOLZFASTER, Melissa MOSBARGER, Jozy MOYER and Adam MOSBARGER; a son, Aubrey Conn and his wife Mary WILKINSON, who are parents of Connie Sue THOMAS, Jane BAKER and Scott WILKINSON; a daughter, Julia Ann and her husband Jerry ASHBY, who are parents of Shawn, Matt and Tim ASHBY; a son, Ronnie and his Wife Connie WILKINSON, who are parents of Trusten Chris and Jason WILKINSON; a daughter, Nancy Lee and her husband Lyndall D. HILL, who are parents of Randall and Rowdy HILL. He is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren and four great- great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are two nieces, Sharlynne WHITE and Sarah RAY; two nephews, Mackelyn WILKINSON and Mike WILKINSON; a host of other relatives and many loyal friends.

Funeral services were at Andrews Funeral Home December 30. Nelson BADDER officiated. Interment ws in Kirk Cemetery near Allendale [MO].
