The Ringgold Record, 1891

OBITUARY.

Mrs. Mary WILCOX, wife of Joseph WILCOX, died at Tingley Saturday, May 16, 1891, in the sixty-fifth year of her age. The deceased and her husband were early settlers in this county and are very well known by a large circle of friends who unite in extending to the bereaved husband and family their heart felt sympathy. The funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon from the M. E. church, of which the deceased was for many years a member. The services were conducted by Rev. Fred SHELDON, assisted by Rev. J. P. GIBSON and Rev. W. H. SAYRE. A very large number were present at the funeral services and many were unable to gain admittance to the church. The cause of her death was a stroke of apoplexy. She had lately moved into her town property and was looking forward to years of happiness, but was suddenly called away.

NOTE: Mary was born on July 9, 1826. Her husband Joseph WILCOX was born in 1829, and died in November of 1903. They were interred at Tingley Cemetery, Tingley, Ringgold County, Iowa.
