DEATH of MRS. JOSEPH WEHRLE.
After a long illness, Mrs. Jospeh WEHRLE passed away Sunday, May 24, at the home in Liberty township. The funeral was held yesterday afternoon at two o'clock from the Church of Christ in Mount Ayr, conducted by Rev. L. C. SWAN, of Thayer, Kan., former pastor of the church, who chose for his text "The eternal God is our refuge and underneath are the everlasting arms." The pastor, Rev. Ross WILLIAMS, assisted in the service. Friends and neighbors, who came to pay their last tribute of respect to the departed, filled the church to capacity and the floral offerings were profuse and beautiful.
Nellie A., daughter of A. W. and Maggie STUART, was born in Middle Fork township, Ringgold county, Iowa, December 26, 1874. She died at her home in Liberty township May 24, 1925, aged 50 years, five months and 28 days.
Her entire life was spent in Ringgold county. She was married to Joseph WEHRLE November 13, 1901. To them was born one baby girl who died in infancy. Sister WEHRLE was a member of the Church of Christ, placing her membership in that organization in 1900. In her earlier life she was active in the church work with the young people, always interested and sympathetic with the work, expressing that interest in service as she had opportunity. She was a woman of strong, thoughtful character, always ready to minister to the needs of those around her. Her friendships were strong and lasting. She did not forget them even in her last illness when in great bodily pain.
Mrs. WEHRLE is survived by her husband, one sister, Mrs. Lee WILSON of Norwalk, Iowa, three brothers, F. A. and H. F. STUART, of Mount Ayr, and R. E. STUART of Saskatchewan, Canada. Besides these she leaves other relatives and a host of friends who will miss her from their lives.
