OBITUARY - MARJORIE (WADDELL) PRIEST WARNKE

Marjorie WADDELL PRIEST WARNKE, 82, of Mount Ayr died August 22, 2006, at Mount Ayr Health Care Center.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday, August 25, at Wilson-Watson and Armstrong Funeral Home, 205 W. Monroe St., Mount Ayr. The Rev. Lila GREENE will officiate the service. Burial will be in Tingley Cemetery. Open visitation will be after 10 a.m. Thursday with the family receiving friends 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. A memorial has been established in her name.

Marjorie PRIEST WARNKE, daughter of Bertha (HAMMOND) and Charles WADDELL, was born February 4, 1924, near Lamoni. She attended school in Decatur and Ringgold counties. On November 23, 1940, Marjorie married Vern PRIEST in Bethany, Mo. They lived on farms in Decatur and Union counties and operated the Kellerton Locker. They moved to Omaha, Neb. After his death, Marjorie continued as a house mother in a private dormitory for business college girls.

On March 10, 1973, Marjorie married Wayne WARNKE and moved to Tilden, Neb. In June 1988, they moved to Tingley. After his death, Marjorie then moved to the Heritage Park apartments in Mount Ayr. In January 2006, she moved to Mount Ayr Health Care Center. She was a member of the Christian Church in Kellerton.

Survivors include her daughter, Sharon (husband Charles) CASE of Tingley; son Kenneth Dale PRIEST of Spokane, Wash.; sister Irene SPENCER of Mount Ayr; five grandchildren, Darrel (wife Tami) CASE, Bobbi Jo (husband Ken) MITCHELL, Lywanda CASE, Kevin BROWN and Tammy CASE; six great-grandchildren, Joshua, Zachary and TJ CASE, Karli Mitchell, Kimberly BROWN and Dacia LAYTHEM; four stepchildren, Clinton (wife Teri) WARNKE, Wade (wife Audrey) WARNKE, Janet (husband Tom) TAYLOR and Glory GOODMAN; and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband on May 13, 1968, and second husband on December 20, 1990.
