OBITUARY - ALLEN ZENTZ

Allen ZENTZ was born in Indiana July 10, 1856, the son of Christian and Rachel ZENTZ. He came to Nebraska in 1888 and was married the following year to Mary Lucinda PRIMMER. To this union were born three children: Nellie, Lester who died in infancy, and Harry.

In 1889 Mr. and Mrs. ZENTZ came to Iowa and settled near Diagonal, where Mrs. ZENTZ died March 27, 1917.

In 1918 he was married to Hanna (sic) MIDDLETON. Since then the home has been in north Mount Ayr.

He leaves to mourn his death his wife, son Harry, daughter Mrs. J. B. GLENDENNING of Colorado.

Mr. and Mrs. ZENTZ went to the home of daughter, Mrs. J. B. GLENDENNING, in Colorado, in April, 1931, in hopes his health would improve. Nothing could be done.

On July 3rd they returned to Mount Ayr where he peacefully passed away at 4 o'clock July 9, at the age of 74 years, 11 months and 29 days.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Rhoades Funeral Home, conducted by T. S. RHOADES and interment was in Bethel cemetery [near Diagonal].

NOTE: Allen was interred next to his first wife, Mary Lucinda (PRIMMER) at Bethel Cemetery. His second wife, Hannah J. (MIDDLETON) ZENTZ was born in 1864 and died in 1947. She was interred at Sweet Home Cemetery, Ringgold County, Iowa. Harold ZENTZ was interred at Bethel Cemetery.
