OBITUARY - CARL L. ZARR

Carl L. ZARR, 90, of Mount Ayr died October 28, 2005, at Ringgold County Hospital in Mount Ayr.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 1, at Wilson-Watson and Armstrong Funeral Home, 205 W. Monroe St., Mount Ayr. The Rev. Edward SHIELDS will officiate the service. Burial will be in Tingley Cemetery. Open visitation will be 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today with the family present one hour prior to services Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to Mount Ayr Health Care Center.

Mr. ZARR, son of Bessie Fern (LANE) and David Leslie ZARR, was born April 21, 1915, in Diagonal. On December 31, 1942, he married Nellie E. HEFFNER in Kansas City, Mo. He worked as a dock foreman for Yellow Transit in Kansas City.

Survivors include a son, Paul (wife Wanda) ZARR of Rison, Ark.; foster son Fred (wife Gail) REIGER of Shawnee Mission, Kan.; sister Dorothy MYERS of Elkhart; sister-in-law Marlene ZARR of Mount Ayr; 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; daughter Barbara HUGHES; seven brothers, Wayne, Cloyd, Don and Walter ZARR and three in infancy; sister Lois MEYERS and foster daughter Christine FRANKLIN.
