Bonita McCAY, 86, of Creston died November 24, 2006, at Greater Regional Medical Center in Creston.
Services will be 3 p.m. Monday, November 27, at Powers Funeral Home, 601 New York Ave. The Rev. Diana LEAF will officiate the service. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery at Creston. Memorials will be established. Online condolences can be left under the obituaries category at: www.powersfh.com
Bonita May McCAY, daughter of Nettie May (HEATON) and Claude Carter FLINT, was born February 1, 1920, in Bethany, Mo. She grew up in Bethany, Mo., and graduated from Bethany High school.
On December 25, 1941, Bonita married Elmer E. McCAY in Albany, Mo. They lived in Eagleville, Mo., Horton, Kan., and Mount Ayr before moving to Creston in May 1952. Bonita was a homemaker and bookkeeper for Elmer at Sinclair and Texaco and while he drove a truck. She was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Creston, Eagle's Auxiliary and various clubs.
Survivors include her three sons, Roger (wife Sue) McCAY of Diagonal, David (wife Sue) McCAY of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Keith (wife Brenda) McCAY of Waukee; niece Dorsey (husband Bruce) CORBY of Lanesville, Ind.; nephew Dennis (wife Liz) FLINT of Unionville, Va.; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Bonita was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 2002; sister Reva Maxine FLINT; brother Darryl FLINT and granddaughter Kerry SHARER.
