A memorial service for Fredric Dean FOGLE, 69, of Mendham [NJ], an engineering company executive, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Hilltop Presbyterian Church, Mendham. Arrangements are by the Bailey Funeral Home, Mendham.
Mr. FOGLE, who died Sunday in Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center, New Brunswick, was president of Q.V.S. Inc. in East Orange [NJ], a specialized engineering firm, from 1963 until his retirement in 1990. He held several patents and invented a compressed reed relay that was utilized in military equipment. He was also an adjunct professor at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, Newark, in 1978.
Mr. FOGLE was a 1959 electrical engineering graduate of Ohio State University and received a doctor of laws degree from Rutgers University Law School in 1970.
A peacetime Navy veteran, Mr. FOGLE served for three years as a line officer and two years in the Civil Engineering Corps, attaining the rank of lieutenant.
Mr. FOGLE was a committee chairman for Boy Scout Troop 130 in Brookside, a member of the Roseland Board of Education from 1968 to 1971 and a member of the Mendham Racquet Club and the Boca Raton Club Resort and Park Avenue Club of Boca Raton, Fla.
He was instrumental in the creation of the 45-acre Fogle Lake and Recreation Area in Diagonal, Iowa.
Born in Newark [NJ], Mr. FOGLE lived in West Orange and Roseland before moving to Mendham 33 years ago. He also maintained a residence in Boca Raton for the past 11 years.
Surviving are Susie, his wife of 46 years; sons, Fredric II and David; a daughter, Lisabeth Sue; a brother, Stephen; a sister, Karen RUSSELL, and two grandchildren.
