OBITUARY - ESMOND DEFOREST FERRIS

Esmond Deforest FERRIS, 77, died Saturday at his home in Menifee. Born in Diagonal, Iowa, Mr. FERRIS lived in Menifee three months. Prior to that he lived in Palm Desert for five years. He was employed by the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles. He was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution and the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Hemet.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a medic and was also a member of the Soldier Chorus that performed in cathedrals all over Europe. He is survived by his wife Joyce of Menifee; his daughter, Mary ARCHULETA of Riverside; his son, Michael FERRIS of Vista; and five grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Hemet. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Miller-Jones Mortuary in Sun City. Interment will be in Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside [CA].
