April 18, 1944 — March 25, 2004
Iris Mae DENISON, 78, died at 7:20 p.m Wednesday, April 6, 2005, at a local nursing home.
She was born in Redding, Iowa, on August 22, 1926, to Elgia Edwin MEADE and Lena Rachel (COMBS) MEADE.
She graduated from Newton High School in 1944 and started working as a telephone operator for Newton Telephone Co. while she was still in high school.
She moved to Carthage and worked for Whislers Hamburgers for 25 years.
She is survived by five sons, Norman "Bruce" BUCKALLEW of Florien, La., David BUCKALLEW of the state of Virginia, Craig BUCKALLEW of St. Louis, Robin DENISON of Carterville and Wade DENISON of Avilla; a daughter, Michele BROOKS of Salisbury, Mo.; four sisters, Ann GREEN of Des Moines, Iowa, Francis WARREN of Monroe, Iowa, Kathy CANNADY of Coburg, Ore. and Betty Jean SIMPSON of Churubusco, Ind.; a brother, Ed MEADE of Newton, Iowa and numerous grandchildren and step grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James DENISON, her parents, three siblings and a grandchild.
No services are planned at this time. The body has been cremated.
