OBITUARY - U. S. GRANT ROYSDON.

U. S. Grant ROYSDON was born at Ottumwa, Iowa, December 10, 1865, and departed this life at his home in Monroe township, Ringgold county, Iowa, January 19, 1929, aged 63 years, one month and nine days.

At the age of fourteen he came with his parents to Ringgold county, where he lived the remainder of his life, except two years spent in St. Joseph, Mo.

On March 30, 1899, Mr. ROYSDON was united in marriage to Laura BELLAMY. To this union were born two children, Opal Belle who died in infancy and Lee Morris who is still at home.

He was a great sufferer for several years and had great hope and a desire to live and was always very appreciative of all the kindness and tender care given him by his devoted wife and son, who ministered to him with loving hands during his long illness, and of the many kindnesses shown by friends. He was a kind and loving husband and father and was loved by all who knew him.

Six brothers and sisters preceded him in death. One brother and three sisters are living. They are Mrs. Florence TOOTHAKER of Soutelle, Calif., Morris J. ROYSDON of Red Lodge, Mont., Adella TALCOT of Twin Bridge, Mont., and Elva G. BLACKMON of St. Joseph, Mo.

Funeral services were held Monday, January 21, at the Methodist church in Mount Ayr, being conducted by the pastor, Rev. E. S. MENOHER, and interment was in Rose Hill cemetery [Mount Ayr].

CARD OF THANKS.

Since it is not possible for us to see each of the neighbors and friends and thank them personally for the many acts of kindness and sympathy generously bestowed during the long illness and at the time of the death and funeral of our husband, father and brother, we take this means of expressing, as much as we are able to express in words, the gratitutde we feel. We are profoundly grateful to all who have been so thoughtful and kind.

Mrs. Laura ROYSDON and son, and the brothers and sisters.
