OBITUARY.

Mrs. Mary J. ROSS, daughter of Basil and Elizabeth RUSSELL, was born in Wayne county, Kentucky, Nov. 29th, 1844, and genly (sic) fell asleep in Jesus, at her residence in Mt. Ayr, May 15th, 1874.

Mrs. ROSS became a subject of converting grace about two years ago, and joined the M. E. Church in Mt. Ayr, and remained a devoted member until death. During the last few days of her illness she knew full well that death was near, and often expressed a "desire to depart and be with Christ." "I am waiting for Jesus to come." "I am ready to go," were some of her last words. "Her sun went down while it was yet day." Mrs. ROSS leaves an aged mother and a little boy, and many friends who mourn her early death. Her funeral took place at the M. E. Church. At the close of the services her remains were conveyek (sic) to the Mt. Ayr [Rose Hill] Cemetery, where in the presence of a large company of friends and acquaintances they were intered beside those of her departed husband and child.

Who slumber in the Lord!
O be like their's our last repose,
Like their's our last reward!"
